Our Team

Histospeck's Scientific Board is a multidiciplinary team of Scientist- specialized in Histology & Image Analysis related fields (Bioinformatics, MRI, AI-based Medical Imaging and Molecular Biology). Together we provide professional Histology, Image Analysis and scientific consultation services in diverse scientific fields- for optimal pre-clinical experimental design and results.

Management

Dr. Spektor founded Histospeck in 2013. He holds a PhD degree in Animal Sciences from the Hebrew University and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from PAC. His PhD thesis focused on interactions between Extracellular Matrix/Fibrosis and tumor development. He has over 17 years' experience in Histopathology, Microscopy, In-Vivo Imaging and Quantitative Image Analysis in both Academia and Biomedical Industry. He has developed and established novel methods for Immunocytochemistry (ICC) staining. Dr. Spektor has authored 11 scientific publications and reviews and serves as Associate Editor in Cancer and Oncology; Surgical Research journals.

Adi Lavy
PhD

Dr. Lavy holds a PhD degree in Life Sciences from Tel-Aviv University. His PhD thesis focused on microbial communities in marine sponges, where he combined classic microbial culturing and metagenomics methods. Microbial metagenomics is a fast-developing bioinformatics research area, highly applicable in many fields of research, such as immune system regulation, and gut microbiome studies. Dr. Lavy was also a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Jill Banfield's research group at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he studied how soil microbial communities affect water quality at an alpine watershed. He has more than 12 years of experience in data science & basic research both in academia and biomedical industry. Dr. Lavy has authored 17 scientific publications and serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals. Adi joined Histospeck as a Data Scientist consultant for Microbial Metagenomics- Histology integration in pre-clinical research.
